Mars Shinshu Distillery, located in Nagano, Japan, was revived in 2011, known for its high-altitude setting in the Japanese Alps, influencing the slow maturation of whiskies. The distillery produces a range of whiskies, including the notable "Mars Komagatake" series, showcasing craftsmanship and local ingredients. Mars whiskies have gained international acclaim for their quality, but their limited production and increasing popularity make them challenging to find.

This specific release has been made from a combination of sherry, ex-bourbon and port cask.

Nose: There are notes of green apple, vanilla, and a hint of woody spice after the floral honey and orchard blossom.

Palate: Tasty hazelnuts and leathery oak come out underneath, while waves of vanilla and caramel balance sharp ginger and pepper.

finish: Melon, sweet citrus, a hint of tannic oak, and barley sugars.
