Originally constructed by French monks, Lindores Abbey is famously home to the earliest record of whisky distillation in Scotland. Today, the abbey lies in ruin, but its sister abbey in Thiron-Gardais still stands. In celebration of the centuries-old tie between these two historic sanctuaries, the Lindores Abbey Distillery have sourced oak from the woodlands surrounding their French counterpart in Thiron, constructing casks from the aged wood before maturing their award-winning whisky within them.

A combination of ex-bourbon, red wine barriques and Thiron virgin oak matured whisky, leading to a wonderful depth of character whilst embodying a true bridge to the distillery's historic roots. Bottled without colouring or chill-filtration at 49.4% ABV.
